A company in Florida called Tampa Bay Monitoring is selling GPS ankle monitors to parents, who want to track their children's location.
Description
Parents who want to restrict their child’s movements by tracking their GPS location can purchase such tracker without a court order.Surveillance Tampa Bay Monitoring is a company that offers such ankle bracelets which are near-impossible to cut off, and also allow to have two-way communication and give the option of sounding a piercing alarm: 95-decibel siren. Employees of Tampa Bay Monitoring can activate the ankle monitor’s speaker and talk to the child.
The service costs $10 a day, or about $300 per month. Tampa Bay Monitoring also offers an “optional, hardened steel encased security cuff for high-risk teens.”
The service also allows parents to define inclusion and exclusion zones for the children, during certain hours, which can be interpreted as Decisional Interference.
